The Scrap Box is hosting the third annual sculpture competition and
fundraising event—The Scrap Box Sculpt-Off—on Saturday, July 25, 2009,
in the Corner Brewery’s Beer Garden.
This
high-energy celebration of creative reuse is a timed three-hour
sculpture competition in which teams create sculptures from reused
materials provided by The Scrap Box and other local organizations.
Gather your friends, family, coworkers, or any other rabble-rousers you
want to make art with, create your team and join in the fun! Each team
will receive a box of similar materials and race against the clock to
create their masterpiece! The teams will be given a theme on which to
base their sculpture designs, and the Sculpt-Off’s final pieces of art
will be judged with a grand prize winner selected.
$10 per
individual participating in the competition. Fee includes one entry
into the raffle and a raucous good time! Teams are welcome to find a
sponsor to help with the registration fee. Proceeds will go to help
keep The Scrap Box running as a viable resource for our community.
(Additional donations to The Scrap Box are always appreciated.)
Come
be a part of the fun that is the third annual Scrap Box Sculpt-Off!
Join your group in the competition or just come to watch and cheer on
the teams in this fun-filled day of eco-artistry!
